Box Tops for Education Raffle & Contest

The Weddington Elementary PTA will be sponsoring a new Box Tops for Education Program for the 2009-10 school year.  We are asking parents, students and staff to collect the box tops and attach them to the new submission form (attached).  Once you fill the form with 10 box tops, you can turn it into the school.  For each submission, you will be entered into a monthly raffle for a Donatos Pizza.  At the end of the year, the classroom with the most box tops collected will receive a Donatos Pizza Party.

If you think that you will need more forms, please make extra copies before you send in the original.  You can also download the form from the Weddington Elementary PTA website.  www.wdespta.org

Silent Auction Donations

Once again we’ll hold a silent auction at our annual Bingo, Baskets & BBQ family fun night ― we need your help to ensure its success! Entertainment Books are Coming Soon

On Tuesday, September 1st, every student will bring home one Entertainment Coupon Book in his or her backpack.  Please review it and decide one of the following three options:

  • Buy the book by sending $20 to school in your child's backpack.
  • Return the book to school in your child's backpack.
  • Sell the book to a friend, neighbor, or family member and send $20 to school in your child's backpack.

In order form is included with each book, so you may sell as many books as you want between September 1st and September 15th.  Books are also available for friends and family in other states and cities to purchase.  All local book orders will be filled within 48 hours.  Look for complete information in your child's backpack on Tuesday, September 1st.

Every student who sells 3 or more books will be entered into 3 separate drawings for a chance to win fabulous prizes!

Every teacher who receives at least 80% of his/her class' books back as either "sold" or "returned" will receive a free coupon book and entry into the teacher prize drawings!

Weddington Elementary Wildcat Pride Package

Parent donations allow the PTA to provide additional equipment and services to the classrooms and school. In place of the Capital Campaign this year, the PTA is offering the $65 Wildcat Pride Package, which includes:

  • One membership in the PTA
    (2nd parent PTA membership is available for an additional $6.)
  • Tax deductible donation to the PTA
  • Weddington Elementary car decal

2008 Fundraising Follow-up

Thanks to everyone's support of the capital campaign in 2008, the PTA was able to purchase or supply the following to Weddington Elementary School:

  • Two additional Promethean Boards for the classrooms
  • Planned for the 1st phase of the outdoor classroom/science center
